I want to build a website with you. Start the process now.

First ask me whether I want to continue an existing code repository. A published website that I want to rebuild or migrate is different; it belongs in the new-project interview.

If yes: Check whether Git, Node.js LTS, and the GitHub CLI are installed and install what is missing (macOS: Homebrew if present, otherwise the official installers; Windows: only `winget install Git.Git OpenJS.NodeJS.LTS GitHub.cli`). On Windows: if `winget` is missing, set it up in the user context with `Install-Module Microsoft.WinGet.Client -Scope CurrentUser -Force -Repository PSGallery; Repair-WinGetPackageManager -Latest`; announce before installing that Windows asks "Allow?" for each program and that the dialog may flash behind the window in the taskbar, use no MSI, RunAs, or ZIP workarounds, and afterwards reload PATH in the running process with `$env:Path = [Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable('Path','Machine') + ';' + [Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable('Path','User')`. Run `gh auth login --web`, state the one-time code in the chat right away, then send Enter so github.com/login/device opens in the browser for confirmation. Then set the Git identity from the signed-in account with commands that read the values themselves, never by retyping them: macOS/Linux `git config --global user.name "$(gh api user --jq '.name // .login')"; git config --global user.email "$(gh api user --jq '.email // "\(.id)+\(.login)@users.noreply.github.com"')"`, Windows `git config --global user.name (gh api user --jq '.name // .login')` and `$e = gh api user --jq .email; if (-not $e) { $e = (gh api user --jq .id) + '+' + (gh api user --jq .login) + '@users.noreply.github.com' }; git config --global user.email $e`. Then show me the repositories I have access to with `gh repo list --json nameWithOwner,description,updatedAt` and `gh api "user/repos?affiliation=collaborator"`. Show pending invitations with `gh api user/repository_invitations` and accept one only after approval with `gh api -X PATCH user/repository_invitations/<id>`; substitute only the numeric `id` from that list for `<id>`. Let me pick one and clone it into the open folder, without a subfolder. If the folder contains only an empty `.git` without commits or remote, it counts as empty: `git remote add origin <URL>; git fetch origin; git checkout -B main --track origin/main` instead of `git clone`, substituting only the chosen `https://github.com/<owner>/<repo>` URL for `<URL>`. If the folder is otherwise not empty, ask me first. Read existing instructions in AGENTS.md, PROJECT.md, and project-notes/CURRENT-STATE.md and start the local preview. If instruction files are missing, use create_starter with the selected existingRepo if connected; otherwise download https://websitestarter.org/downloads/v2.2.4/website-starter-en.zip temporarily, validate safe paths, and add only missing instruction files. Record the selected repository in the new PROJECT.md. Preserve existing project records and technology. Do not repeat the interview or clone again.

The following steps apply only to a new website or migration:

If no: Check whether the tools from the public Website Starter MCP server at https://websitestarter.org/mcp are already available. If so, first call `start_website` with `language: "en"` and `client: "chatgpt"`. Follow the returned interview. Explain MCP once in one sentence only if it is relevant to me.

If the MCP server is not connected in ChatGPT Desktop, do not try to call tools using only the URL or install the connection automatically. Read https://websitestarter.org/starter.json and use the direct download at https://websitestarter.org/downloads/v2.2.4/website-starter-en.zip.

With or without MCP, ask only one short question at a time and do not ask again for answers already given:
1. What is the website or project called?
2. Who is it for, and what is the most important thing visitors should do?
3. Is there an existing website, domain, copy, logo, or photography? An existing website to rebuild belongs here; it does not require a code repository.
4. Should the website use German, English, or both?
5. Does it need content only, or also a form, booking, shop, or login?

Without MCP: Summarize the answers and download the standard ZIP. After the safe extraction described below, record the answers in PROJECT.md inside the confirmed destination folder. If you cannot handle downloads or local files, say so clearly and give me the direct ZIP link and one next step for opening it in a local coding agent. Do not claim to have created a file.

With MCP: After my answers, call create_starter.

With or without MCP, once you have the ZIP: If you can write local files, use a destination I explicitly designated for this website or ask where to put it. Inspect existing files. Extract temporarily, validate safe paths, and copy the contents of the single ZIP root directly into the destination without overwriting existing files. Then read AGENTS.md, PROJECT.md, and START-HERE.md and begin with a local preview. If you cannot write local files, give me the ZIP and exactly one next step for opening the folder in a coding agent.

Do not ask me to choose a technical stack. Do not deploy, buy anything, or create external accounts without my explicit approval.
